Sunplug is run by one person in France. These are the terms of using it, written to be read rather than skipped.

What Sunplug does

It reads your solar system, works out what is spare, and asks your car or charger to use it. It is a controller, not an electrician: it works within the limits you configure and does not know anything about your wiring that you have not told it.

Your electrical installation is yours

Set the limits correctly. Sunplug will charge at whatever current you tell it your installation allows. If those numbers are higher than your wiring, breaker or supply can take, it will do as it is told. Check them against your actual installation, and ask an electrician if you are not certain.

You are responsible for your equipment being safe and correctly installed. Sunplug commands it; it cannot inspect it.

It is in beta

Free while it is, and it may break. Things will change, occasionally without notice. Do not rely on it for a charge you cannot afford to miss — set a departure time and check the car, the same as you would with any timer.

What it depends on

Sunplug talks to your equipment through other companies' systems — Tesla, your inverter's manufacturer, your charger. When they change something, break something, or withdraw access, Sunplug stops working with that device until it can be fixed. That is outside my control, and I will tell you when it happens rather than leaving you to notice.

What I ask of you

• Only connect equipment you own or are allowed to control
• Do not try to break it, overload it, or use it to reach other people's systems
• Tell me when something is wrong — that is the whole point of a beta

Ending it

Stop whenever you like. Delete your account and Sunplug's access to your car and inverter is revoked along with it. I may close an account that is being used to cause harm, and I will say why.

Liability

Sunplug is provided as it is, without warranty. It is a free beta run by one person, and my liability is limited to what the law allows me to limit it to. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under French or EU law.

Law

French law applies, and the French courts have jurisdiction.
