No solar? Start here

Sunplug is a solar charging service, and it takes an account with nothing but a tariff. No panels, no inverter, no meter, nothing on your network. The car charges in the cheapest hours your contract offers instead.

What you get without panels

The half of Sunplug that watches the roof sits idle; the half that decides when to buy does not. Each car fills to the level you set in the cheapest hours there are — whenever in the day they fall — and never above a price you name. How that is worked out. Home shows the next 24 hours of prices with the planned charge marked on them, and the statistics say what you actually paid per kilowatt-hour.

Three steps

1. Create your account at sunplug.app/welcome, with a passkey, Apple or Google.
2. Enter your tariff — the tariff guide covers every kind, including hour-by-hour market prices.
3. Connect the car or the charger. A Tesla needs its app login and nothing else. Any other car needs a smart charger Sunplug can start, stop and set the current on.

A car on a plain socket cannot be managed by anybody, Sunplug included. There is nothing in the wall to talk to, and no amount of software makes one appear.

What you will not see

Anything that is an answer about the sun: surplus, self-sufficiency, the split between free and bought energy, what the roof saved. Those need a roof to be about.

If panels arrive later

Connect them then — the guide for your brand has the steps, and most of them are a sign-in. The tariff you have already entered goes on doing its job, and each car gains a solar target above the level the grid is asked to reach.
