Easee

Easee's documentation says setting a current limit over OCPP needs beta firmware, so Sunplug uses Easee's official cloud. You sign in with your Easee account, and the Easee app keeps working.

Connecting

  1. Settings → Equipment → Chargers → Easee (cloud)
  2. Enter your Easee account's email address
  3. Enter your Easee password — used once to obtain a token, then stored encrypted. Sunplug does not keep the password itself
  4. Enter the charger's serial, printed on the charger and shown in the Easee app
  5. Check it works — Sunplug should read the charger's state back

First turn off Easee's own smart charging and scheduling in the Easee app, or they will quietly override Sunplug.

How Sunplug drives it

Sunplug sets the charger's dynamic current, not its configured maximum, so nothing in the Easee app is overwritten. Each limit expires after fifteen minutes and is renewed well before; if Sunplug stops, the charger returns to its configured maximum instead of staying pinned at 6 A.

Below 6 A it stops

Below 6 A Sunplug stops the charge, and resumes it when there is enough sun. Easee note that some cars need 7 A before they draw at all: a car stuck at "connected" on a thin afternoon is usually the car, not the charger.

When it does not work

Sunplug cannot sign in

Use the account the charger is registered to. An invited account can see the charger but not command it.

The current changes and then goes back

Easee's smart charging or a schedule is still on. Turn it off in the Easee app.

Nothing changes at all

Enter the charger's serial, not the circuit's or the site's; the Easee app shows all three.
