Why through the charger

Most car makers offer no third-party API, and almost none allow setting the charging current. Surplus tracking needs continuously variable current, so Sunplug sets the limit at the socket and your car takes what is offered.

A wallbox that speaks OCPP 1.6 — Wallbox, Zaptec, ABB, Alfen, Keba, Vestel, go-e and many more. Follow the OCPP guide to connect it.

Two cars

Two wallboxes charge at once, sharing the surplus inside your supply limit. A Tesla on its own connector plus another car on a wallbox works too.

What about my car's app?

Turn off any scheduled charging or departure timer in the car or its app — two systems setting the same thing fight, and the more restrictive one wins.
