Solis
Solis works by sharing rather than by handing over a key. You type one code into your own SolisCloud account, and your plant becomes visible to Sunplug — read-only, revocable by you, and without your password ever leaving your hands.
Request signing confirmed against a working implementation and cross-checked independently; the response fields are exercised against a simulator. No physical inverter yet.
Not connectable yet
Solis is being connected through their own OAuth sign-in — you will approve Sunplug on a Solis page, the way you already do for Tesla, and there will be nothing to type here at all. That application is with Solis.
There is a working alternative that would ship sooner: one shared credential we hold, plus an organisation code every customer types into their portal. It works, and we are not shipping it. It would mean holding a key on your behalf and then asking every early customer to migrate off it once the better route lands — which is a worse deal than waiting.
In the meantime the Sunplug Agent reads a Solis inverter on your own network, once a minute, with nothing leaving the house. That is faster than the cloud route will ever be.
This is why Solis is a comfortable one to support. Some manufacturers offer nothing but a full account password, which is a design failure rather than a feature; a share code is revocable, scoped, and yours to withdraw.
What Sunplug will read

- House load, so surplus can be worked out
- Grid import and export
- Battery power and state of charge
Nothing is written. Solis is a reading source only — the charging commands go to your car or your wallbox, never to your inverter.
Five minutes is the floor
SolisCloud refreshes roughly every five minutes however often it is asked, so Sunplug follows the sun across an afternoon but cannot chase a passing cloud. In practice that means slightly less solar captured on a broken-cloud day than a local connection would manage.
If you want faster, run the Sunplug Agent on anything at home that stays switched on and it will read the inverter on your own network instead, once a minute.
When it does not work
The plant does not appear
A newly shared plant can take a few minutes to show up. If it has been longer than that, check the organisation code was entered in your own SolisCloud account rather than in the installer's.
Sunplug says the signature was rejected
Every request is signed with the current time, so a server clock that has drifted will be refused. This one is on us, not on you — tell us and we will look.
Production shows but house load does not
A string inverter with no meter fitted reports what the panels make and nothing about what the house uses, so surplus cannot be worked out. Sunplug will say so rather than guess. Fitting the Solis meter, or adding a Shelly at the supply point, fills the gap.
